Luke and Grandad swimming

This is a pic of My Dad and Luke having a swim.   He loves swimming and he wears a blow up lifejacket and with it own he is fine.   I tried him without it and he just sinks.   He panicked so for now he will wear that.  Obviously he will always have an adult alongside.    This was at the start of our Holiday.  Its sad to think that my Dad will be moving overseas soon.  They have since moved out of this house and are renting before they leave the country.

Semi Update- OUr Holiday Part 1

Yes its going to be in two parts LOL.
Well our holiday was great , got off to a bit of a rocky start as I was quite stressed and strung out till about the 3rd day, yeah nice one. So DH and I were bickering all the time. Drove the 7hours to my Dads place then relaxed for two days swimming, eating, chilling. The Monday 20th we left on the trip. We only travelled short distances everyday but with us being in a convoy you tend to drive slower and you stop more frequently so it tends to end up being long in the car.
Anyway we saw plenty of places in South AFrica that I havent seen yet and it was a different kind of beauty, the way we were travelling was semi dessert what we call the Karoo. Our first stop was overnight at a lovely stone and thatch cottage alongside a river. The temp was high 38deg C but dry and for us it was a big adjustment. Needless to say we swam for quite a while in the river which was literally knee deep all the way across, but it was flowing quite strongly so we had to keep a hold of the little ones cause as soon as you lay down and floated, you moved quite quickly. But it was a lovely respite from the heat. Adam particularly enjoyed it as he could keep his feet on the floor and be totally submerged LOL. That evening we bbq'd and just chilled out of doors. It didnt really cool down and it was quite a mission to get to sleep.
Next day we were back on the road again and we travelled to a place called Springbok. This town is in the heart of the Namaqualand and its famous for its annual show of flowers (naturally occuring ones in the semi dessert) they flower for like two months of the year starting in October. Part two tomorrow...............

Update

Hi everyone, well havent posted here in a bit. No noteworthy news really.
I finish work today for the holidays and believe me it hasnt come a minute too soon.
We have taken photos recently but havent got them on this pc yet. But I will endeavour to do so before Christmas. We are going away and to be honest not sure if I will have an internet connection available where we are going , but I promise to update if I can.
Boys are fine and are counting the sleeps to Christmas already.
Adam looks a sight because he got bumped by Luke in a race to the bathroom and he banged his nose on the wall. Luckily it didnt split but he has such a bruise, it looks like he has gone ten rounds with Ali.
I am hoping it will fade before Christmas photos start being taken.
We are busy potty training Adam at the moment and its quite cute. But the number two is going to take quite a while. He seems to have the number one waxed.
Thankfully all my christmas presents are shopped for and wrapped and now its just a matter of packing the car etc etc.
HOpe you all have a wonderful festive season.

Whats up this weekend

Well this weekend is going to be a busy one again.
Tonight we have Uncle Jumbos Christmas Party. Its a charity event run by the Round Table. You take your kids along. There are fairies, Noddy, Big Ears, Mr Plod, clowns, singing activities and then Father Christmas makes an appearance with a big sack of presents. Each child gets a present (you have to buy it label it and hand it in at the start) Its all for a good cause, goes for under priviledged children and the grown ups generally take a picnic along. Some hot coffee, munchies and its a good fun filled evening. So thats tonight. I will take pics and put them up as soon as I can.
Tomorrow, I am having a friend around for a bbq, we keep trying to get together and somehow something always comes along where one of us has to cancel. Lets hope we actually do this LOL. I also need to do some Christmas shopping still. Then Sunday I am going to have a nice relaxing day for a change. I can't wait.
Anyway thats what we are up to. HOpe everyone has a nice weekend too.

Boys playing in the tree on 28th of November Posted by Hello

It probably wasnt quite the same as you guys over there, but the thought was in it.
Weather was a lot different. It was hot and humid. We did the Turkey in the Weber and we ended up having lots of veggies with it, because of the heat. I had made a trifle for pudding which I have to say was absolutely divine. The boys had a fantastic day. It was a sort of pre Christmas lunch , because this year we are going away and my brother and his family will be on their own.

7th Anniversary

Yep yesterday the 22nd November was our 7th wedding anniversary. Its been a bit of a hairy 6 months but I think we are back on track. We went out for a celebratory meal last night to a new Taiwanese restaurant. It was great. We splashed out on a bottle of Champagne and started with Soup, then we shared, Chicken and cashew nuts, beef and black bean sauce, sweet and sour pork and a bowl of steamed rice. I really enjoyed it and it was fun to try and eat with chopsticks again LOL. We ended with bowties and then went home. All in all a great evening. Its going to be a busy week this week. Its my nephews 7th birthday today and Martyns on Thursday.

A Great Weekend

Hi everybody. Well we had a great weekend. I started on Friday, myself and some friends went to see the new Bridget Jones Movie. We had a great time, the movie was just as good as the first and I was in stitches, its a must see. Then we went for something to eat. It was a stunning evening. Warm and calm. (storm was on its way) Martyn took the boys to one of the ladies I was with, house. Her hubby decided if the girls were having a night out, the boys could have one too. LOL. So they had a bbq and had a good time too. I met them there and we stayed a bit longer then went home. They boys had a great time and they were really good.
Saturday was my nephews 4th birthday party and we ended up staying a bit longer and the kids had a swim. Luke is really keen and he was splashing around with arm bands now in the kiddie section. Adam showed no fear and just wanted to copy the older boys who were diving in. Nerves. At least neither of them are not wanting to get in. They loved it. Sunday was a rather quiet day and we bbq'd for lunch. Watched some music DVD's and I did some cross stitching. Just a nice relaxed day.
Now its Monday again LOL. Just comes too soon, doesnt it.

Weekend was great

Hi all, well it was a great weekend. Spent some good quality time with the boys.
We initially though had to get the cat vaccinated for her spell in the nursery while we are away at Christmas. Wasnt that a joy as I dont have a cat carrier and she was not impressed with being put in a cardboard box. So I ended up wrapping her in a towel with just her head sticking out.
We took the boys to a mini street plan that the local council/municipality has laid out near to us, purley for teaching groups of children, rules of the road when riding bicycles. The went round and round the layout having loads of fun, stopping at the traffic lights and stop streets. Then we took them down to the beachfront and we all had an icecream cone. Messy but great fun. Came home and barbequed some meat and sausage and just chilled.
Sunday was relaxing too, we popped a chicken in the weber to roast and relaxed outside, it was a beautiful day and we made the most of it. We ended up at My brothers to celebrate his sons 4th birthday and didnt get home till really late. But it was a great afternoon and evening. Yay summer is here.

Luke and Adam Oct 2004 Posted by Hello
Okay so this pic thing just posts them separately, thing to do would be to load pics first then say your say LOL.

Anyway this pic was taken the afternoon of Halloween, as you can see it was rather a hot day for us I had the umbrella up on the lawn over my lounger cause that way I got some breeze blowing which helped cool us down. It was too hot under the patio.
But a great day anyway.

Our first attempt at Carving a Pumpkin for Halloween Posted by Hello

Friday, November 12, 2004

We dont celebrate Halloween in SA but we carved a pumpkin anyway...

Luke spotted a carved pumpkin in one of the supermarkets and although this country is just starting to see Halloween as an event of note, most people just see it as another day and you dont get any trick or treaters yet.

Well we decided that we would buy a pumpkin and have a go at carving one. We (Martyn and I) had no idea at all how you are supposed to do it but we thought we would give it a go anyway.

It was a hot day on the Sunday and we were in the garden under the umbrella, you can see how warm it was by looking at the boys' flushed faces. The pumpkin turned out a huge success and Luke was really really excited. We had to wait till quite late to put the candle inside so it would light up. Poor thing, he wanted us to leave it lit all night in his room. Yeah right.

Okay I tried to upload a pic but its not working so I will have to work this one out guys, be patient.
Thanks

Well I finally did it.

Yes I got my own blog. LOL I couldnt be left out when I know all my friends have one.
Plus it will keep my family up to date overseas.

Recent happenings in our family , well Luke and Adam are growing at a rapid rate. Luke seems to have just shot up out of nowhere its crazy.

Yesterday I took him to the harbour as there was a Navy vessel docked and was open to the Public for a few hours. Well he loved it. Unfortunately I didnt get to take my camera as it was all a sort of spur of the moment thing. But it will be locked into our memories forever.

Keep coming back for updates. I promise to do my best but I cant guarantee that it will be everyday.
